Oracle OCI Receives FedRAMP ATO

Government agencies that require FedRAMP authorization can now use the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) government cloud to run their enterprise applications.  OCI government cloud makes it easier for Oracle customers to move their existing database applications to the Oracle cloud with minimal redesign.

Oracle’s legacy of government service began more than 40 years ago, with the development of a relational database program helping customers such as the U.S. Air Force and the Central Intelligence Agency. Today, Oracle Cloud services help both civilian and defense agencies meet their key regulatory and risk management requirements with a comprehensive suite of compliance accreditations, including FedRAMP. With flexible deployment options—public, private, and hybrid clouds—federal agencies can seamlessly build, deploy, and manage workloads, in the cloud or on premises.

OCI government cloud provides enterprise database services with the benefits and manageability of the Oracle database, and also provides the agility and scalability expected of cloud deployments.  In addition, customers can choose to move their database applications to an Exadata Cloud service and benefit from the high performance and availability of the Exadata platform without the traditional cost and lead time of installing hardware in an agency datacenter.

OCI government cloud also provides a second-generation, open, highly secure and reliable architecture for the development and deployment of enterprise applications. Security features are built in, from the inside out, and allow key applications such as WebLogic, PeopleSoft, E-Business Suite, and open source applications to be moved to the cloud more quickly and easily.

So whether an agency needs an alternative disaster recovery site, a net-new development site, or a primary production site, OCI government cloud offers a good and lower cost option to support the needed environment.
