Recently, we announced Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Government Cloud obtained a Provisional Authority to Operate (P-ATO) from the FedRAMP Joint Authorization Board (JAB). Having already achieved two FedRAMP High Agency ATOs, Oracle’s achievement of the FedRAMP High JAB P-ATO further assures agencies that the risk posture of the system has been reviewed and approved by leading technology officials.
Press Release: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Government Cloud Services Obtain FedRAMP JAB P-ATO Accreditation
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure has also achieved Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Impact Level 5 Provisional Authorization, and recently announced the expansion of Government Cloud regions to address the needs of Intelligence Community and Department of Defense customers at DISA Impact Level 6, Secret and Top Secret security levels.
This authorization is the next step, priming Oracle to deliver greater value to its public sector customers on several fronts.
The JAB P-ATO helps customers understand the steps Oracle has taken to mitigate the risk of data breaches and reduce their cloud security concerns. Oracle continues to invest in building trust with our Public Sector customer and partner communities. The FedRAMP JAB P-ATO supports government customers while completing the full certification and accreditation process themselves, saving them valuable time and resources that would be consumed in attesting cloud services and carrying out security due diligence associated with this process.
As any organization that has either explored or gone through the JAB P-ATO process knows, it is an intensive and rigorous process. But having achieved the accreditation is also testament to a Cloud Service Provider’s commitment to providing secure and compliant solutions.
Oracle has implemented hundreds of controls and scheduled continuous compliance maintenance actions throughout the authorization process along with ongoing security monitoring, monthly reviews, and an annual re-assessment.
Oracle’s Gen 2 Cloud was developed with a particular focus on addressing government cloud needs with capabilities including strong encryption, in-depth auditing, and robust security controls and tools. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is a compliant, cost-effective, and highly secure platform that public sector customers can rely on for their most critical workloads.
