is that from classic HDD or from SD disc?

I installed it onto my Windows system, if that answers your question.

I think what he wants to know is if you are using classic rotating media (HDD) or solid state media (flash-based SSD).

Not bad but measuring first startup would have been more impressive since restarts are always faster since netbeans files are already on cache.

The first comment asks for the type of hard disk used, Solid State Drives make everything faster.

It doesnt matter windows of linux.

Classic HDD aroud maximum 50mb/s reading speed.

SSD i saw around 300mb/s reading speed (last generation may be even more)

Because startup time of netbeans depends from 2 factors how many objects need to create and load all need classes into RAM from harddrive, using SSD significantly improve starup time all applications include OS.

to guest: given that he just closed NB, before starting it again it was mostly from RAM (warm start)
