Sticky Note

Geertjan Wielenga
Product Manager

Here's what you get when you combine the blog entry from yesterday with the Visual Library and a really cool Sticky Note component by Gerrit Grunwald:

The Sticky Note sidebar is part of each and every Java document in the IDE. Whenever you open a Java document, the Sticky Note sidebar is shown, i.e., it is part of the Java document (and not a separate palette or via a separate TopComponent), enabling you to create reminders for yourself dedicated to the current Java document, while you're coding.

Notes are added by right-clicking in the Sticky Note sidebar and choose "New Sticky Note". Notes can be moved and resized.

Nice eye candy!! But is it useful? Would be nice, if the TODOs (from the task list) relating to the open file, popped up in that place.

That sounds like a nice plugin request!
