Caoyuan Deng, the author of the Scala plugin, starts the year off well with the announcement that the Scala plugin for NetBeans IDE 7.4 is available:

http://plugins.netbeans.org/plugin/52559

New features:

  1. Format code using Scalariform;
  2. Run/Debug sbt project/file. (For debug, you need to attach debugger by yourself [Debug -> Attach Debugger] after invoke 'Debug' action)
  3. Sbt 0.13.1
  4. nbsbt-1.1.0 has been published to repo.scala-sbt.org
  5. Implicit call is now highlighted with italic fonts.

Fixed features:

  1. Various fixes for code completion;
  2. Multiple opened Sbt/Scala consoles now work properly;
  3. Better Jump/Open to declaration position of source file.

Here's what you see after installing the plugin (i.e., unzip the ZIP file, go to Tools | Plugins, use the Downloaded tab to install the NBM files):

    In 7.4 with all updates installed it is not possible to install individual Scala plugins because of outdated dependencies. E.g.

    The plugin Maven Projects is requested in version >= 2.86.1 but only 2.83.1 was found. The following plugin is affected:       Scala Maven bridging

    The plugin I/O APIs is requested in version >= 1.42.1 but only 1.41.1 was found. The following plugin is affected:       Scala Maven bridging

    The plugin Datasystems API is requested in version >= 7.51.1 but only 7.50.1 was found. The following plugin is affected:       Scala Maven bridging

    When Maven bridging is deselected, another plugins are complaining:

    The plugin Java Support APIs is requested in version >= 1.49.1 but only 1.48.1 was found. The following plugin is affected:       Scala Debugger Projects Integration

    How can I get all dependencies with most recent version? Win 7 64-bit, NetBeans 7.4.

    Thanks

    For me, from the screenshots, you can see that it installs perfectly. I suggest you close NetBeans IDE 7.4, remove the user directory, and restart it. Then try to install the plugin again.

    Thank you for this plugin. I want to start learning scala, so I gues this plugin could make that easier, since Netbeans is my IDE of choise.

    The link provided above doesn't work for me. I am getting an error

    'We are sorry, but such plugin does not exist or is not published.'

    Have you moved it to another address, or there are some issues with the plugin?

    Second try

    My first comment didn't show up. Since I haven't noticed any warning that my comment is going to be checked, I'll try one more time.

    The link to plugin above is dead.

    Give it a moment, we'll sort it out.

    Hi,

    Due to a bad bug on sbt project debugging, I deleted the plugin at plugins.netbeans.org, and published a fixed one which is now waiting for approval:
