JFugue Music NotePad instanceof dev.java.net

Geertjan Wielenga

If you go here, you'll be able to get the JFugue Music NotePad's sources (and hopefully contribute to them):

https://nbjfuguesupport.dev.java.net/

Instructions are provided for setting everything up. A list of open issues is there too. A lot needs still to be done, but a few people have asked to see the sources of this application and, hopefully you should be able to download everything and run the application from NetBeans IDE 5.5, out of the box. There might be problems, of course, and if so feel free to join and write to the mailing list provided. Code contributions are very welcome.

In other news. Go here and read an interview with Matthew Bohm, who is one of the Sun Java Studio Creator IDE developers. He created the new AJAX Rating Component, which is one of the components used in the Java Pet Store application. He talks in some detail about the component and also about... his interest in classical music, the great Argentine poet Alejandra Pizarnik, and... his wife! (By the way, that's a blog by Gail and Chris, two technical writers from the Creator team. Chris is The One Who Taught Me Everything I Know About Web Applications And NetBeans IDE!)
