There are a bunch of cool pics made from the 1st day of the course, including this one:
After having given this course for literally several years, I've recently finally managed to put together a coherent story around the 3 use cases of Lookup, i.e., of loose coupling in the NetBeans Platform via the Lookup class:
The image above shows all 3 use cases of Lookup in action, (1) service registry where loosely coupled processors are registered, (2) loosely coupled capabilities, a.k.a. cookies, here illustrated via SaveCookie, and (3) loosely coupled GUI components, in this case the editor/history windows.
Tomorrow is day 2 of the course, which will also be the final day. Two days can generally be enough, though 3 days (and definitely 5 days) allows for a slower pace and also more topics, but maybe we can do some additional days later in the year with JUG Chennai, now that they've got the basics.
Oh, and I'm not literally in India. Skype can be a wonderful thing, including its screen sharing capability, which is all it took for this course to happen.
