How to Rapidly Understand Scientific Literature

Comments:

Off topic but useful:

Any chance on getting NetBeans to provide an easy way to:

1. Set the default version of the Java JDK,

2. Set the default version of the Java JRE?

Both of these seem to be hard and cause problems. NetBeans "Tools/Java Platforms" allows you to add platforms, but not set default.

Searching for info online leads to all kinds of wild suggestions, so obviously lots of people wonder about this, but few seem to know what to do. Some Oracle website tells you to remove all earlier versions of Java. Sometimes the (Windows 7 64) uninstall will refuse to remove all earlier versions, so who know what the deal is.
