Debug Multiple PDF Documents in iText RUPS for NetBeans IDE

I updated the iText RUPS plugin for NetBeans IDE considerably. Rather than using Window | Debug PDF, which opens a single window in which one PDF document can be debugged at a time, you now use Window | Favorites and then right-click a PDF document in the Favorites window to open the RUPS window:

That means you can have multiple RUPS windows open at the same time, each for debugging a different PDF document.

Get the updated plugin here:

Comments:

On Ubuntu 10.04 / Netbeans 6.9.1 the plugin says: PDF header signature not found.

Does it say that for all PDFs? Or just one? Please try different PDFs, possibly it's a problem with the PDF, not the plugin. (And I am using the same combination as you, 6.9.1., with 10.04 Ubuntu.)

I've tried for example http://download.oracle.com/javaee/6/tutorial/doc/javaeetutorial6.pdf
and I've tried it with different PDFs i.e. the dzone refcard for JPA 2.0 (#128)

What about this one, which works for me:

This doesn't work for me either. So I assume it might be a problem of my Netbeans installation. On Monday I'll try it on Windows7.

Great, thanks, please let me know what happens.

No, it doesn't work on Windows 7 64-bit either. It gives the same error message. The 2.0 version, where a user link on the PluginDetailPage points to, crashed my Netbeans.

The one the user link points to shouldn't have been there. It has been removed. Strange that it doesn't work for you. But it's not clear when/how the problem occurs -- i.e., probably the problem is not in the plugin but in the underlying iText RUPS code, which is what the plugin bundles.

I used the PDF Debugger plugin too in my NetBeans IDE 6.9.1 on Ubuntu 10.04 and it works good with quite complex 3.4 MB PDF document. No crash, no exceptions.
