Consider BizLaf by Centigrade

Consider BizLaf by Centigrade, not free, but really stylish. Not just for business applications (though certainly high up on the list of libraries you should consider to include when creating applications on the NetBeans Platform) but also for NetBeans IDE itself because Centigrade has created a NetBeans/BizLaf plugin some time ago.

Click to enlarge the image for a better perspective, since I cropped it considerably to make it fit in this blog entry:

Find it via this link and note it isn't free, though the best things in life aren't either, such as the recently released awesome NetBeans Platform book.

Officially, support for BizLaf is available up until NetBeans IDE 7.2.1, at this stage. However, by simply rewriting the installer to the following (and removing the ModuleInstall reference in the Manifest), I got it to work in NetBeans IDE 7.4 and NetBeans IDE 8.0 as well:

public class BizLafModuleInstaller implements Runnable {
    public void run() {
        try {
        } catch (Exception e) {

Finally, since Centigrade is a company/organization that has worked to enhance NetBeans IDE, they should be promoted on the NetBeans Partners page soon! Let me know if you're in a company creating plugins (whether commercially or free) for NetBeans and we'll promote your technologies too.
