What key challenges did you face personally during this project?

It was a migration project - moving the customer’s existing On-Premises application, Hyperion Planning, to the new Oracle Cloud version. I work primarily on Cloud applications; therefore, I needed to understand how the On-Premises application works and learn how to use it. Although we were migrating from one Oracle solution to another, sometimes they are not compatible, so I had to perform some tasks manually. But in the end, everything was fine, and the customer was extremely happy with the new Cloud application.

 

How did you maintain the standard of service for the customer remotely?

I helped the customer to track project progress by providing a full explanation at every step. After the delivery of the new application, I also conducted virtual training sessions for the users and administrators. During these sessions, I showed the main differences between On-Premises and Cloud and presented the new Cloud functionalities that support the customer’s specific needs and requirements.  Through-out every stage, I keep in close contact with the customer to answer questions that arise – communication is key to success.

 

Were you able to manage and meet the customer’s expectations remotely?

The customer wanted something like its existing On-Premises system, but faster and easier to use, and that’s exactly what it has now. In particular, the end-users are spending far less time on calculations and there is a marked increase in productivity. Even when some new Cloud functionalities (like the dashboard, for example) did not work as they expected, they were satisfied when I explained how they could use it.

 

What were the key factors that made 100% remote delivery easier and ultimately successful?

  1. Demos prompted decision-making and accelerated the sales cycle.
  2. Our customer collaboration and videoconferencing tools ensured project team alignment and effective execution of remote activities.
  3. Effective listening to the customer’s questions resulted in project team responsiveness and customer satisfaction.
