Updates to the Console and My Services Dashboard in Oracle Cloud

Alan Boucher
Proactive Support

The Oracle Cloud User and Developer Experience team is proud to announce the next suite of usability enhancements for Oracle Cloud.

The biggest update includes improving the user experience for the IaaS and PaaS console. It will be easier for you to manage all your Oracle Cloud services — whether they be IaaS, PaaS, and now SaaS — from a single login. The Console and My Services Dashboard are updated to provide a more unified customer experience. These updates will enhance and simplify managing your cloud, but the placement for several key navigational actions will also change. For more information, refer to Console Experience Enhancements Unite IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.

Updated areas of the Console include:

  • Cost Analysis, Invoices & Subscription ID
  • IDCS Console Access from Tenancy Details
  • PaaS Navigation
  • PaaS Access Management
  • Announcements
  • Live Chat
  • My Home (re-labeled Service User Console)

How does this affect me?

If you use the Oracle Cloud My Services dashboard to access and manage services, over the next few days you will notice an updated dashboard experience after you sign in. Depending on the services you subscribe to, you will see various visual and navigational changes that are documented here. Most users will see the new Console experience by default, and will no longer need to navigate to My Services to manage their cloud.

Do I need to take any action?

We recommend reading the announcement blog post so you are familiar with how the upcoming changes may affect navigation to certain features within the console.

Do I need to update saved URLs or bookmarks?

No. Previously saved URLs will automatically redirect to the new Console experience.
