Demystifying Data Integration for Cloud

Data Integration Product Marketing Team Blog

In our screencast on Tuesday, we presented how to use data integration products to move to cloud computing successfully. If you missed the screencast you can watch it here.

In this screencast, we explained 3 key ways Oracle’s data integration products can support and enhance your cloud computing architecture. These solution areas are:

(1) Consolidation/migration to cloud without downtime and enabling highly available data infrastructure

(2) Providing data services for data-layer application integration as part of platform-as-a-service

(3) Real-time application data synchronization within private cloud, and between non-cloud and private cloud systems

In our white paper “Demystifying Data Integration for Cloud” we explain these solutions in more detail. The white paper goes into specific uses such as loading bulk data into cloud, and integrating data between on-premise systems and public cloud, as well as how to meet availability and performance related SLAs.

You can download this white paper here along with other assets describing our cloud oriented solutions.

Leveraging Data Integration for Successful Cloud Deployments

Data Integration Product Marketing Team Blog

Cloud adoption has been rising in recent years. According to our survey conducted with Oracle users, 38% of the respondents already have implemented a private cloud architecture. It is not surprising if you consider the benefits of cloud computing, ranging from agility and scalability to cost savings. Faced with today’s cost pressures and demand for innovation, companies choose to move to cloud architectures; private, public, or hybrid (consisting of both). And, you may be part of one of the many organizations that already started or plans to move to cloud.

The question we want to tackle is: what happens to your enterprise data when you move to a private or public cloud? In today’s screencast we will be discussing data integration technology’s critical role for cloud.

We invite you to view this screencast part of The New Business Imperative: Social, Mobile, Cloud series to learn more about choosing the right data integration technology for cloud computing, and how Oracle Data Integration products can make your cloud implementation a success.

Introducing Oracle Public Cloud at Oracle Open World 2011

By Sandeep Banerjie, Oct 5, 2011

Larry Ellison announced the Oracle Public Cloud today! For those of you who missed this exciting announcement live, let me quickly summarize it for you:

The Oracle Public Cloud is a suite of Oracle applications, middleware and database offerings delivered in a self-service, subscription-based, elastically scalable, reliable, highly available and secure manner. Oracle provides hosting, management, software updates, and world-class support for these offerings.

The Oracle Public Cloud includes the following services:

Application Services

  • Oracle Fusion CRM Cloud Service
  • Oracle Fusion HCM Cloud Service
  • Oracle Social Network Cloud Service

Platform Services

  • Oracle Database Cloud Service
  • Oracle Java Cloud Service

So what’s unique about Oracle Public Cloud?

It is an enterprise cloud for business. It is an integrated suite of services spanning Oracle's complete portfolio based on open Java and SQL standards offering flexible cloud and on-premise deployment. The services offered in the cloud are based upon Oracle's complete portfolio of best-in-class solutions. They are fully integrated together so IT departments do not have to unify the solutions they buy, and the cloud provides an extensive array of timely and relevant 3rd party content to enrich applications. Applications can be built or extended using standards-based technology such as full Java EE applications and SQL. Organizations can deploy Java applications with no changes onto our cloud, customize Fusion Applications, and develop new custom applications. There is easy instant provisioning with a transparent, predictable pricing model that is based upon monthly subscriptions and consolidated billing. Additionally, applications and end users can move from Oracle Public Cloud to on premise and back. Finally, the cloud is based upon Exalogic and Exadata, offering superior reliability, performance, and elastic capacity.

To learn more about Oracle Public Cloud and get a first hand view of the different cloud services, be sure to attend the “Oracle Powers the Cloud” day at Oracle OpenWorld on Oct 6 (Thursday). It’s going to be an action packed day with keynotes, 25+ cloud sessions, and 15+ demos.
