WCM 10gR4 Download

You can download WCM 10gR4 from here. Look for "Site Studio 10gR4 (Version: 10.1.4.0.0 | Date: 20081216 | Size: 45,364,908 bytes)".

This is your first step to realizing your WCM capabilities in Portal dream.

More to follow.

Comments:

Is OpenWCM part of this download i.e. ability to consume/manage content outside of content server (e.g. portal)?

Hi Andrei, this is not yet full OpenWCM (e.g. no tags yet, those come in 11) but this is the Site Studio part of OpenWCM.

Hi Billy, Not sure I understand the response fully, will 10gR4 facilitate presenting a site developed in studio within Portal or this will not be available until 11g? We will also using WebSphere Portal. Thanks

Hey Bill, yes, 10gR4 will facilitate presenting a site (or site assets) developed in SS within a portal or other web app. The difference is that additional features like the tag library etc are not in 10gR4 but are on roadmap. There are some great demos available that we can show you on how 10gR4 Site Studio works within a portal setting (obviously we're demoing on our portal layers) Be sure to check out OTN (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/content-management/ucm/SiteStudio10gR4Tutorials/index.html) for the samples and viewlets and check on the ECMAlerts blog (http://blogs.oracle.com/ecmalerts) for more details. Also, if you're going to be at Collaborate next week in Orlando, stop by the Site Studio Hands on Lab for a quick primer.

Hi Billy, Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I am in Sydney, Australia, but a trip to Orlando does sound great!! I am trying to test the new WCM_PLACEHOLDER service to call back some placeholder content from the site. I am using the URL: http://content.server1.com/idc/idcplg?IdcService=WCM_PLACEHOLDER&dataFileDocName=000270&placeholderDefinitionDocName=PLDEF_CONTENT_MAIN The content returned contains links that have a URL address such as http://content.server1.com/idc/samples/index.htm, which would be an issue if viewed from within a portlet or a portal context. I tried the optional WCM_PLACEHOLDER parameters with no luck. How would you work around this or would you have to code the WCM_PLACEHOLDER links at design time? Secondly, the content returned is not in the same style or format as the original site placeholder content. Any ideas there? Thanks, Bill
