Twitter in the Enterprise
By billy.cripe on Mar 27, 2009
Twitter has skyrocketed in popularity recently. But I still encounter many people who say, "I just don't get it." That's fair. The perspective from outside the twitterstream can look like a virtual Tower of Babel. Even more than individual confusion is the confusion I hear coming from businesses. Why should enterprises care about thousands of individuals speaking in 140 character limits to the ether in hopes someone will listen to them?
Gartner has posted a bit of analysis HERE. It's worth reading and, in my personal view, conservative. If you're really interested, take a look at the presentations like This, or This, or this, or even THIS.
