When it comes to the competitive world of fast-casual dining, restaurant chains are always looking for the next big trend that will differentiate them from others in the industry. Restaurants need modern menus and talented chefs to keep customers coming back, while also ensuring that they provide guests with excellent customer service. Whether it be the speed of service or ease of payment processing, guest experience and restaurant point-of-sale technology go hand-in-hand.
This year, Oracle Food and Beverage was excited to sponsor the Planet Hollywood Inspire & Ignite Conference 2020. Hosted from January 22-24 in Orlando, Florida, the event was a great way for Oracle to both learn about the new technology propelling the Planet Hollywood group forward, as well as share some of our industry-proven solutions with attendees.
Planet Hollywood International, known for its iconic hotel properties, also owns a variety of successful chain restaurants, including Bertucci’s, Buca di Beppo and Earl of Sandwich. The event took place at the Rosen Shingle Creek, which is one of Planet Hollywood’s lovely properties in Florida. Owner Robert Earl kicked off the event, which had a variety of interesting speaking sessions, networking opportunities, and time to discuss the future of the restaurant industry with leaders from all of the different brands in attendance.
One of the most exciting technological advances the conference explored was the ever-evolving world of food delivery. Buca di Beppo’s newest concept is an entirely virtual restaurant chain called P.Za Kitchen. Available nationally, the chain makes use of virtual kitchens in Buca di Beppo stores by fulfilling orders that are not dine-in. Using delivery services such as Grubhub, customers select and order menu items that are delivered directly to their door. Virtual kitchens and new delivery methods have been extremely popular as a way to make use of kitchen downtime, and Buca di Beppo is a leader in this space. Oracle MICROS Simphony POS Systems for Restaurants are designed with the flexibility to integrate with a variety of delivery services.
Another hot topic at the event was back-office managerial strategies, with a focus on shift scheduling. Oracle Food and Beverage offers enterprise solutions for cost control in a variety of areas, including Oracle MICROS Labor Management for centralized employee scheduling and management, Oracle MICROS Inventory Management for increased ordering efficiency, and Oracle MICROS Menu Management for centralized data on a fully connected restaurant POS system.
Oracle Food and Beverage is excited to continue its partnership with Bertucci’s, Buca di Beppo and all of Planet Hollywood as they continue to expand and grow throughout the nation.
