Amusement & Theme Park Show Provides Stage for Oracle MICROS Simphony POS

Kyle Settle
Senior Sales Executive, Oracle Food and Beverage

It’s a rite of summer: We look forward to taking trips to amusement parks and making lasting memories with families and friends.

Exciting rides, attractions and games are the main reasons to go to a theme park, but delicious concessions sweeten the experience. And along with all the treats offered at parks, guests expect a fast and efficient experience when dining and ordering concessions. Oracle Food and Beverage is dedicated to serving venues globally as a trusted technology partner to help theme park operations run as smoothly as possible.

As part of our commitment to the industry, the Oracle Food and Beverage team attended the 2019 Amusement & Theme Park Food Service Conference, held Dec. 2-5. The annual event, which focuses on food and beverage operations in amusement and theme parks and zoos, gives operators and business partners from venues throughout North America an opportunity to discuss industry trends and learn about new technology. Each year, a different company hosts the conference, giving attendees a chance to explore a new venue.

Cedar Fair sponsored and hosted the 2019 event. The conference took place at one of Cedar Fair’s many award-winning theme park properties, Carowinds in Charlotte. The amusement park is 407 acres, making it the largest in North Carolina and offers a variety of thrilling roller coasters, family rides, and water park attractions.

In addition, the event featured a partner trade show hosted at the Charlotte Convention Center. Oracle Food and Beverage showcased a variety of POS solutions, including mobile POS hardware and Simphony, our cloud-based point-of-sale platform. Many of the largest theme parks in North America use Simphony, a food-and-beverage POS system built to optimize operations while delivering a first-class guest experience.

An important aspect of food and beverage operations in outdoor theme parks is POS hardware that is purpose-built to last. The Oracle MICROS Workstation 310 is ultra-durable and built to endure extreme environments. Additionally, its compact size makes it ideal for fitting into smaller concessions spaces, allowing operators to serve more guests in the same amount of time.

When the tradeshow concluded, Oracle Food and Beverage sponsored a cocktail reception to show the team’s appreciation for all the venues in attendance. The Amusement & Theme Park Food Service Conference was a great experience, and we look forward to continuing our support of the venue industry.
