Sun Storage 7000 2010.Q3.1.0 Release

A new major release of the unified storage software is now available. This release contains several new features including Windows File Sharing DFS Root support, source-aware routing, and an optional new NDMP backup format that can deliver significantly improved performance. We are confident that this is the highest-quality release available and encourage all customers to begin planning their upgrade strategy as soon as possible. The 2010.Q3 software image supports all shipping products as well as the simulator; an updated simulator VM image will be available shortly and a separate announcement posted. Note that this release is 2010.Q3.1.0 and is therefore technically the first minor release; the 2010.Q3.0.0 release was used only in support of internal processes. We have expanded and extended the release notes for this release; please be sure to read them carefully before upgrading as they provide a detailed list of new features and important information about the upgrade path.
Comments:

After upgrading to Q3.1.0 i can't destroy storage pools any more. The appliances is sitting there doing nothing and I can't logon to BUI. Funny thing! But I've already seen anything with these ultra low quality devices.

I am still getting NFS service disruptions during scheduled snapshot deletions on dedupe shares (case 72757294). Do I need to Apply the deferred updates before these will/might be addressed?
And FWIW, I much prefer the previous panel and colors in the BUI.

@Kyle Tucker, If the problems you're seeing are indeed caused by ZFS slowness during snapshot deletion, then yes you will need to apply deferred updates in order to see improvement. In addition, only snapshots created after the updates are applied will benefit. See http://wikis.sun.com/display/FishWorks/Deferred+Update+-+Snapshot+Deletion for the skinny on this deferred update.

I applied the the updates. I waited until no deferred updates showed as pending and I then changed the snapshot schedule on one of my dedupe shares which would have resulted in the deletion of some previously created ones. All shares, non-dedupe included on the entire head of the cluster became unreachable for about 5 minutes from all my ESX hosts, resulting in a disaster for all those VMs. showmount -e from a Solaris NFS client still showed the shares as exported. Not good.

The mount daemon running on the server only has an idea of the actual mounts, since the NFS server is stateless. showmount will only display the information as accurately as the mount daemon reports it.
