If time doesn't fly, then where does it go?

Did you know that Oracle Financials turns twenty years old
this year?  I think that twenty years in
the software industry is like ten in dog years which is about seventy in human
years.  Can you remember the early
character-mode release of Financials?  We
still hear about how much people loved character mode forms and how
efficient those forms were.   Back in the day, our users basically
spoke another language where "backslash", "navigate", 'quickpick", & "zoom"
were words in their vocabulary.  Remember...this was before the internet and email were widely used!  For those of you wanting to to take a stroll down memory lane,
here's an old screenshot that someone dug up for me.

Financials has certainly come along way.  In some ways, it feels like we've done it all;
and in other ways, it feels like we're just getting started.

Financials looks like this today....

Now2:

What do you think Financials will look like in
2027?

Comments:

Financials in 2027 - [a] Most users would be accessing it using iPhone (or its 2027 avatar) [b] Complex Navigation menus would be replaced by voice recognition quick navigate [c] Data entry would be using touch screen [d] Performance will be so fast that even POS terminals will use Oracle Financials
