Announcement: Video Demos Now Available

The YouTube Channel will complement our blog posts, showing you many customization and development tasks using the Fusion Applications platform. This includes:
  • Using Page Composer and Application Composer for run-time customization
  • Using JDeveloper for ADF design-time customization
  • Using BI Composer tools for reports and analytics customization
  • Using SOA development tools for BPEL and BPM customization

These videos are bite-sized, only a few minutes each, and show a process from start to finish with no slides or static screenshots. We have an initial library of 14 videos covering many popular areas and a plan to release many more, roughly on a weekly basis.

We hope you find these useful, and if you have comments or have things you would like to see then please leave a comment below and we'll do our best. Enjoy the show!

Hi Richard

I recently saw the youtube video on customizing the navigator menu by adding web urls through manage menu customization. Can we dynamically add parameters to the url eg the personid the user who is currently logged in, preferably as a hidden or encrypted parameter ?

Regards
Gaurav

Hi Gaurav.
Currently getting context/session parameters is best supported by using Expression Editor, as illustrated in this blog post (and some related videos on the channel).
https://blogs.oracle.com/fadevrel/entry/using_expressions_to_add_logic

The Navigator menu customization page, however, doesn't support the Expression Editor currently, so its not possible without on-premise design-time customizations using JDeveloper. I will check if an Enhancement Request is open for this, and log it if not, as it makes sense to have. Thanks for sharing the requirement.

Kind regards
Richard
