Messaging Server: Upgrading to 6.3 and Potential Admin ID Problems

When upgrading to Messaging to 6.3, you might encounter problems with the admin userID. Potential problems could present themselves, for example, with components trying to use proxy authentication.

The basic problem lies with a change in Messaging Server 6.3. Prior to 6.3, Messaging kept configuration information in the LDAP directory server under o=netscaperoot. By default, the definition of the admin account was stored in that DIT. If you also had a user defined in your main users/groups DIT with uid=admin, then Messaging would find and use that entry instead of the one in the configuration DIT. As of 6.3, Messaging no longer uses the o=netscaperoot configuration DIT.
