Messaging Server, Message Store, and ZFS: Hang On...

I've been trying to get an answer on whether the lastest version of Messaging Server, 6.3, supports ZFS yet. Unfortunately, it looks like the answer is to hang on for the next release.

In the meantime, for more information, I found this thread on the Messaging Server software forum to be about as informative as anything else we've said publically on the matter.

Comments:

How about official support for SAM-FS? Putting mail on an archive aware filesystem seems to be a great option. I know the mail stores for my users never go down. . .

A side note as one of the posters in that thread is that it is a major bummer that Cluster 3.2 is not officially supported with JCS 5 at this time. Kind of a let down with JCS 5 being sweet, ZFS being sweet, and Cluster 3.2 being sweet and being unable to synthesize them together. I know that such things are simple on paper but more difficult on the ground, would have been a beautiful thing, sniff...

Nate:

Definitely hear you on that. All that I can say at this point is that I hope better news is on the way soon. I'll try and keep the community up-to-date on this issue.
