Oracle Private Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS): Towards the Hybrid Cloud - Launch Webcast for Oracle EMEA Partners

Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 9:00 UKT / 10:00 CET

Dear Oracle Valued Partner,

The need for business agility, cost reductions and risk control is driving the adoption of the Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) model by enterprises all over the world. Databases are a key component of any business application and therefore the agility in provisioning and managing Database services has a direct impact on the business.

Companies are adopting the Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) model both by rearchitecting their internal IT database infrastructure (Private DBaaS) or by moving some database workloads to Public Clouds. Eventually most enterprises will have a mix of Private DBaaS and Public DBaaS services, in what will constitute a Hybrid Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform.

We are launching the FY16 “Private Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS): towards the Hybrid Cloud” Sales Play for Oracle EMEA Partners and we want to invite you to a webcast on Thursday, July 9th, 2015 at 9am UK / 10:00 CET / 11:00 EET where we will discuss:

Top Three Challenges Driving Adoption of Database as a Service

A recent study estimates that the market for cloud databases and database as a service (DBaaS) will grow 14x, from about US$1 billion in 2014 to approximately US$14 billion by 2019.

According to Oracle Product Marketing Director Scott McNeil, three management challenges are driving IT executives and database managers to move toward DBaaS:

  • Unmanaged asset sprawl.
  • Configuration pollution.
  • Slow time to deliver database instances.

Guide to Private DBaaS - Customer Insights

Database clouds enable efficient consolidation of servers, storage, and database workloads.By utilizing the multitenant architecture Oracle Database 12c, customers can reduce operational costs, reduce the impact of maintenance and risk of failures, and become more agile in the data center. This includes rapid self-service provisioning of database services, and monitoring and metering of performant, reliable and secure database services on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Three customers (KPN, a telecommunications firm in the Netherlands e-DBA, a technology service provider in the UK, and State of Texas, a U.S government agency) share their DBaaS insights in the following guides:
