Planning to attend Oracle European Value Chain Summit 2014, March 18 and 19 in Amsterdam?

If so, be sure to check out these two must see sessions featuring AutoVue for Agile Visualization:

PLM for Industrial Manufacturing: Product News and Roadmap Agile e6 & AutoVue
In the presentation you will learn more about recent product releases of Agile e6 and AutoVue. New features and business benefits will be discussed. This presentation will also give you more insight to the upcoming releases and the overall roadmap.
Date: Wed. March 19, 2014
Time: 11:15 - 12:00

Streamline the Design and Manufacturing Process with Agile Visual Decision Making
This session will focus on how companies can streamline and automate their PLM processes through the use of visual decision making. Design reviews, supplier collaboration, engineering change, new product introduction and quality processes can all be enhanced and simplified through the application of visual decision making. See firsthand process improvements that Agile customers have experienced globally, as well as, new techniques and capabilities to facilitate visual decision making.
Date: Wed. March 19, 2014

Tracking product-specific knowledge articles in the My Oracle Support portal

There have been a number of changes/improvements to the My Oracle Support (MOS) portal over the past year, and one that I find quite useful is the ability to easily add multiple products to the ‘Knowledge Articles’ widget in your dashboard. This allows you to keep an eye on recently created/updated articles for whichever Oracle products you’re interested in, as well as recent Alerts for those products. Here’s an outline of the steps to configure this in your MOS dashboard:

  1. Click the ‘Customize Page’ link near the top-right.
  2. Locate your ‘Knowledge Articles’ widget (if not already added, click on ‘Add Content’ to add it).
  3. In the ‘Knowledge Articles’ widget, click on the wrench icon at the top-right.
  4. Select any products for which you’d like to maintain a feed of recently created/updated articles. For example if you’d like to monitor articles for all flavors of AutoVue, type ‘autovue’ in the Products dropdown and the auto-complete will present all of the different AutoVue products to choose from.

Another nice feature is that you can have multiple ‘Knowledge Articles’ widgets in your dashboard, allowing you to track different product lines separately if preferred. Here’s a screenshot of my MOS dashboard, where I track AutoVue articles and Primavera articles in two separate widgets:

For more tips & tricks on searching and browsing the knowledge base, click on the 'Webcasts and Recordings' link in your MOS dashboard, from which you'll find a video recording all about search and browse capabilities.

Oracle AutoVue Key Highlights from Oracle OpenWorld 2012

We closed another successful Oracle Open World for AutoVue. Thanks to everyone who joined us this year. As usual, from customer presentations to evening networking activities, there was enough to keep us busy during the entire event. Here is a summary of some of the key highlights of the conference:

Sessions:
We had two AutoVue-specific sessions during Oracle Open World this year. The first session was part of the Product Lifecycle Management track and covered how AutoVue can be used to help drive effective decision making and streamline design for manufacturing processes. Attendees had the opportunity to learn from customer speaker GLOBALFOUNDRIES how they have been leveraging Oracle AutoVue within Agile PLM to enable high degree of collaboration during the exceptionally creative phases of their product development processes, securely, without risking valuable intellectual property. If you are interested, you can actually download the presentation by visiting launch.oracle.com/?plmopenworld2012.

AutoVue was also featured as part of the Utilities track. This session focused on how visualization solutions play a critical role in effective plant optimization and configuration strategies defined by owners and operators of power generation facilities. Attendees learnt how integrated with document management systems, and enterprise applications like Oracle Primavera and Asset Lifecycle Management, AutoVue improves change management processes; minimizes risks by providing access to accurate engineering drawings which capture and reflect the as-maintained status of assets; and allows customers to drive complex maintenance projects to successful completion.

Augmented Business Visualization for Agile PLM
During Oracle Open World, we also showcased an Augmented Business Visualization-based solution for Oracle Agile PLM. An Augmented Business Visualization (ABV) solution is one where your structured data (from Oracle Agile PLM for instance) and your unstructured data (documents, designs, 3D models, etc) come together to allow you to make better decisions (check out our blog posts on the topic: Augment the Value of Your Data (or Time to replace the “attach” button) and Context is Everything ). As part of the Agile PLM, the idea is to support more effective decision-making by turning 3D assemblies into color-coded reports, and streamlining business processes like Engineering Change Management by enabling the automatic creation of engineering change requests in Agile PLM directly from documents being viewed in AutoVue. More on this coming soon...probably during the Oracle Value Chain Summit to be held in San Francisco, from Feb. 4-6, 2013 in San Francisco! Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information!

And thanks again for joining us at Oracle OpenWorld!
