Have You Covered Everything?
By Angus Graham on Sep 14, 2010
During a deployment of any enterprise software, there are lots of things to consider. Are all the components compatible with each other? Are they compatible with the OS? What about the Java runtime environment? Have we planned our UAT? Do we have a set of post-install tests to make sure everything's running? And on and on.
There's so much to keep track of, it's easy to forget a few things. Forgetting something early on can have a big effect. It may be the difference between celebrating on the Go Live date or making panicked phone calls asking for more time. Having a checklist to ensure we've asked some key questions about the deployment would greatly reduce the risk.
We've just released the AutoVue Deployment Checklist. Formatted like a questionnaire, this tool can help SIs and partners walkthrough the deployment plan and make sure they've identified risks which could threaten the success of the deployment. You'll find the AutoVue Deployment Checklist at the AutoVue Knowledge Zone under the Implement tab. Once you're there, look under Tools and Resources.
We are always eager to hear your feedback. Got ideas for other tools to help you deploy AutoVue? Let us know.
