Enable Visual-Guided Selling
By Celine Beck-Oracle on Oct 14, 2010
We live in a visual world. I know this is stating the obvious, but in today's world, visual information, from graphics to youtube videos to complex 3D models, is changing the way we analyze and experience data, and make decisions. In a business environment, the challenge really is to synthesize multiple sources to a common visual representation and deliver visual information in the appropriate business context so as to maximize user's decision-making capacity. And this is what Enterprise Visualization is all about.
We have been working with a number of Oracle teams and partners to develop integrations that would help provide the right visual context and make visual information accessible directly in the enterprise applications that users are most familiar with in order to improve decision making and performance. One of these integrations developed by Latis Technologies, an Oracle partner devoted to Configure-to-Order implementations, generated a lot of excitement during Oracle Open World. The integration between Oracle E-Business Suite Configurator and AutoVue provides customers with the ability to dynamically generate 2D and 3D rendering for the configurations done using Configurator.
The ability to present in real-time how configuration options affect the physical view of a product can be very useful, especially if you are not an expert in configuration or in the products you are configuring! It helps verifying the accuracy of the configured products rather than simply checking a bill of material, and gives customers increased confidence that their order will be fulfilled to specifications and delivered in a timely manner. Not to mention that your sales team will be grateful for providing them with a solution that will help them better communicate products to customers, reduce customer uncertainty, and shorten the sales cycle; in a nutshell allow them to focus on what they do best: increasing your sales!
We are very excited about this new integration and would love to get your feedback on the topic! Please do not hesitate to post your comments / reactions on the blog! In the interim, please do not hesitate to contact Latis Technologies should you wish to learn more about the integration between Oracle AutoVue and Oracle Configurator,
