New AutoVue for Agile Enterprise Visualization Movie, Visual Decision making within the Supply Chain!

This AutoVue for Agile Enterprise Visualization movie highlights how Visual Decision Making can help when dealing with the supply chain. Before an RFQ is sent to suppliers the internal team members can verify the CAD model attachments being “sent” with the RFQ. The supplier(s) can analyze the actual CAD model(s) they will be bidding on. They can manipulate it in many ways  such as rotate it, zoom into areas to see more detail, get exploded views, etc. They can also take precise measurements from the model. All of this will aid them in getting the information they need to make their bid. The video will also show how quickly a manufacturing issue can be resolved by collaborating in real time using AutoVue for Agile. The internal team and supplier(s) will share the same views of the model in a real time meeting and will be able to work together in this visual environment to quickly resolve the issue that arises.

Interactive troubleshooting using knowledge Assistants

Over the past couple years our Support organization has been publishing a number of new types of content in the My Oracle Support (MOS) knowledge base, beyond the standard/static how-to and problem-solution documents. More recently, we've been working on a new type of document - or more specifically a tool - called Assistants.

Assistants are interactive documents that guide the reader through a question tree towards known solutions for specific areas of troubleshooting. Oracle is in the process of creating Assistants across all of the product lines, and the first one we created for AutoVue is for a subject area dear to our hearts:

Assistant: Troubleshooting Connection Issues when Using AutoVue Client/Server Deployment (Doc ID 1615930.2)

Here's an example of a particular question tree, which in the case of this Assistant goes 2-3 layers deep before presenting known solutions on the right:

Make sure to check it out, share your feedback, and let us know (via comments in the document or through this blog) what other subject areas you'd like to see for new Assistants!

Visual Information Navigator: Next Generation Interaction Paradigm
The business value of IT systems is essentially based on establishing, understanding and manipulating relationships between business objects. For over 30 years, this has meant screens showing tables, rows, & columns. The look & feel may have evolved over the years, but the same paradigm has remained. Is that still the best way to visualize and manipulate relationships? We believe there is a better paradigm that will radically improve the quality & “attractiveness” of the user interaction. Join us for an interactive session featuring Oracle’s new visualization & interaction paradigm called Visual Information Navigator, which is being deployed within Fusion Supply Chain Management Applications.
