SOA Magazine V all about PaaS

clip_image002Welcome to the fifth edition of the SOA Magazine by SOA Community. This edition is focuses on Cloud Computing. More precisely, it highlights Platform as a Service (PaaS). Oracle is in process to launch three new PaaS Cloud Services: Process Cloud Service (PCS), Integration Cloud Service (ICS), and Java Cloud Service (JCS). JCS is the underlying foundation and enables you to build, deploy and run Java Applications. With ICS, partners and customers can build integrations between Applications. For example, an integration between Eloqua marketing and Salesforce CRM including an on-premises SAP system. PCS is the platform to build and execute BPMN process in the Cloud. Oracle’s key unique selling point is that the same software is available as on PaaS as on-premises. For example, you can start building your process in PCS export your application and run it on Oracle BPM Suite on-premises in a private Cloud. This enables customers to start and try a service in PaaS and, if required, move it to a data center of their choice.

The second major trend in IT besides Cloud Computing is Mobile. In this Magazine edition, Luca Jellema published an Tutorial to build a Flight application including mobile integration and application. This application is a great example for the complete Red Stack and we want to encourage your to make use of it! It includes all key components from the underlying WebLogic Server, SOA Suite and Service Bus for IT driven integration and BPM Suite for human based processes up to mobile integration with REST. With this application you will learn to utilize the stack and to gain productivity.

This quarterly newsletter is for both customers and partners who are active in the SOA space. The content includes articles for IT decision makers, architects and developers. The goal of the newsletter is to update you on the latest SOA technologies, market studies, trainings & certifications and conferences. We publish the newsletter in English and some articles will be in Portuguese especially for the Brazilian marketing, thanks to Ricardo Puttini and his team. Contribution is open for everybody! We want to publish your content! Like case studies, best practice, technical examples and solutions and conferences. Feel free to submit your content to Jürgen Kress.

Installation of Oracle B2B 12c by Tiago Teixeira

clip_image002In this post I will quickly go through the steps that are necessary in order to install Oracle B2B and create a SOA domain that you can use.
I will consider that the installation will be used for a development environment and that it is done on the Linux machine.
Note that prior to the installation of B2B you will need to have machine running a Database and perform the installation of Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c Infrastructure and of the Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c SOA Suite and Business Process Management on the same machine where you will be installing B2B. You will also need to have the latest Oracle JDK 7 Update installed on that same machine.
The necessary software can be downloaded using Oracle eDelivery:

  • V44959-01.zip – Latest Oracle JDK 7 Update for Linux x86-64 (Prerequisite)
  • V44416-01.zip – Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c (12.1.3.0.0) Infrastructure (Prerequisite)
  • V44420-01.zip – Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c (12.1.3.0.0) SOA Suite and Business Process Management (Prerequisite)
  • V44421-01.zip – Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c (12.1.3.0.0) B2B and Healthcare

To install Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c Infrastructure please refer to:
Oracle Fusion Middleware Installing and Configuring the Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure
To install Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c SOA Suite and Business Process Management please refer to:
Oracle Fusion Middleware Installing and Configuring Oracle SOA Suite and Business Process Management
I'm considering that a new domain will be configured from scratch. If a SOA domain was already created previously a few of the next steps can be ignored and the existing domain can be extend to include B2B. If that is the case, for the next steps, remember to shutdown any running instances of Weblogic Server.

     1. The first part of the installation will be to install the software:

After you have downloaded the V44421-01.zip file unzip it: Read the complete article here.

Weblogic LDAPAuthenticator configuration; the GUID Attribute by Maarten Smeets

clip_image001LDAP servers can be configured to use as authenticator in Weblogic Server. In order to efficiently use an LDAP server, it must be possible to uniquely identify LDAP objects. GUID (global universal identifier) attributes can be used as unique identifier for an LDAP object. There are several specific and some more generic LDAP authentication providers available for Weblogic Server. The specific authentication providers have default GUID (global universal identifier) attributes (see here at ‘Use of GUID and LDAP DN Data in WebLogic Principals’). When using the generic Weblogic Server LDAPAuthenticator, there is no default GUID attribute. In order for LDAP caching to work and to allow browsing of group memberships for users, the GUID attribute needs to be defined. The entryUUID is a good candidate for this since every LDAP server should support it. See RFC 4530. Also see here.

In my example, I’ve used the user ‘maarten’ to authenticate myself with when logging into Weblogic Server. The user ‘maarten’ is member of the groups Administrators and DummyGroup. The debug information was acquired by setting the DebugSecurityAtn flag as described here. Weblogic Server 12.1.3.0.0 was used and ApacheDS 2.0.0 as LDAP server. For the configuration of ApacheDS/Weblogic Server, I’ve used the following: http://technology.amis.nl/2014/08/03/ldap-weblogic-using-apacheds-authentication-provider/.

GUID Attribute set to entryUUID

In the below example, the GUID attribute is set to ‘entryUUID’. As you can see, the GUID is correctly determined and there where no errors during authentication. Read the complete article here.

Handling Date Format and ADF Bindings by Andrejus Baranovskis

clip_image002With the latest release of Oracle BAM 12c (12.1.3), Oracle has completely redesigned the user interface (UI) and this is the third post in a four part series of posts introducing this new UI.

Part 1 - Introducing the New Oracle BAM 12c Composer

Part 2 - Navigating Oracle BAM 12c Composer's New "Home" Page

Part 3 - Navigating Oracle BAM 12c Composer's New "Administrator" Page

Part 4 - (Coming Soon) Navigating Oracle BAM 12c Composer's New "Designer" Page

In this post, I will give you a brief overview of the new "Administrator" page and hopefully provide you with some insight into the redesign and how to navigate within the new UI.

BAM Composer Administrator Page View

By default, the Administrator page loads with a static image in the main section and with a Navigation Pane on the left-hand side.  With the Navigation Pane you have the option to add, edit/view, delete or refresh the four types of objects using the icons at the top of the Navigation Pane..

BAM Composer Administrator Objects

  • Data Objects
  • Enterprise Message Sources
  • Continuous Queries Monitoring
  • Viewset Monitoring

The Navigation Pane can also be collapsed to provide additional space for the main section.

BAM Composer Data Objects

In the image below you will see the out-of-the-box structure of the BAM Composer Data Objects.  In the fourth post in this series, I will go into further details on the out-of-the-box data objects and their different types. Read the complete article here.

Integrating With Fusion Application Using Services (SoapUi - SSL) By Jani Rautiainen

clip_image002Fusion Applications provides web services that allow external systems to integrate with Fusion Applications. There are two types of services: ADF services and composite services. ADF services are created for a logical business object and provide functionality to access and manipulate these objects. The composite services are mostly process oriented and provide an orchestration of multiple steps.
Information about the web services provided by Fusion Applications is hosted in Oracle Enterprise Repository (OER). The information provided by OER can be used to understand the functionality provided by the service and how the service can be called.
This series of articles describes how one can invoke SOAP web services provided by Fusion Applications using various technologies. In previous article we covered how to invoke a Fusion Application web service secured with simple username token using SoapUI. In this article we will cover a call to service secured with SSL policy.

Prerequisites

SoapUi

The reader is expected to have SoapUI installed.

Fusion Applications Web Service Policy

This example covers a call to a web service that support user name tokens and SSL. The example was tested with a service using "oracle/wss_username_token_over_ssl_service_policy" commonly available for Oracle SaaS environments.

Implementing Web Service Call

Generally the steps to call a SSL and non-SSL services are the same. The SSL services are however commonly configured to validate a timestamp though. So calls to SSL services commonly require the "wsu:Timestamp" element and the value used must be within tolerance. If the timestamp is not provided or the value is not within the tolerance you would see error such as:

      <env:Fault xmlns:ns0="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd">
         <faultcode>ns0:InvalidSecurityToken</faultcode>
<faultstring>InvalidSecurityToken : The security token is not valid.</faultstring>
         <faultactor/>
      </env:Fault>

Closer look at the SOA 12c Feature: Oracle Managed File Transfer By Tshepo Madigage

clip_image002

The rapid growth of cloud-based applications in the enterprise, combined with organizations' desire to integrate applications with mobile technologies, is dramatically increasing application integration complexity. To meet this challenge, Oracle introduced Oracle SOA Suite 12c, the latest version of the industry's most complete and unified application integration and SOA solution. With simplified cloud, mobile, on-premises, and Internet of Things (IoT) integration capabilities, all within a single platform, Oracle SOA Suite 12c helps organizations speed time to integration, improve productivity, and lower TCO.

To extend its B2B solution capabilities with Oracle SOA Suite 12c, Oracle unveiled Oracle Managed File Transfer, an integrated solution that enables organizations to virtually eliminate file transfer complexities. This allows customers to load data securely into Oracle Cloud applications as well as third-party cloud or partner applications.

Oracle Managed File Transfer (Oracle MFT) enables secure file exchange and management with internal departments and external partners. It protects against inadvertent access to unsecured files at every step in the end-to-end transfer of files. It is easy to use especially for non technical staff so you can leverage more resources to manage the transfer of files. The extensive reporting capabilities allow you to get quick status of a file transfer and resubmit it as required. You can protect data in your DMZ by using the SSH/FTP reverse proxy.
