Maintaining the Security-worthiness of Java is Oracle’s Priority: Oracle has done much work to address security issues in the Java language and platform. For example, Oracle is taking steps to address the security implications of the wide distribution model by further dissociating client/browser (home users) and server use (enterprise deployments). Also, starting in October 2013, Java security fixes will be released under the Oracle Critical Patch Update (CPU) schedule, along with all other Oracle products. Please read Nandini Ramani's blog for details.
Feedback Wanted: Java SE 8 The latest preview update of JDK 8, the next generation of the Java Development Kit, has much new Java SE 8 functionality, including lambdas. Please download it, test it and share your feedback.
JavaFX Maven Plugin and Scenic View: The JavaFX Maven Plugin provides a way to assemble distribution bundles for JavaFX applications from within Maven. It just hit 2.0 Alpha and could use your feedback.
Scenic View is a JavaFX application designed to make it simple to understand the current state of your application scenegraph, and to also easily manipulate properties of the scenegraph without having to keep editing your code.
