Ovum research note exploring the customer benefits of deploying Oracle Engineered Systems

Ovum analyst Roy Illsley has published a research note exploring the customer benefits of deploying Oracle Engineered Systems.

KEY FINDINGS

  • Oracle has produced a range of systems that are unlike others in the integrated systems market, and the term "engineered systems"describes this differentiation extremely well.
  • One of the key differentiators of Oracle’s Engineered Systems is the inherent reliability, scalability, and performance that these systems deliver.
  • While Oracle’s Engineered Systems are designed to address customers’ most pressing challenges in their data centers, central to Oracle’s Engineered Systems value proposition is the comprehensive support agreement that Oracle offers to customers.
  • Oracle’s Engineered Systems deliver a solution that is engineered for a particular purpose: to deliver reliability, performance, and scalability.
  • Oracle’s strategy is to provide solutions for businesses to focus on business issues not IT issues
  • Oracle Engineered Systems simplify the management of data and databases for enterprise customers.
  • One of the biggest strengths of Oracle’s range of Engineered Systems is the ability for these systems to all be interconnected and managed through a single management tool, Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c.

IDC Link:Oracle Enterprise Manager: The Secret Sauce in Oracle's Hybrid Cloud Strategy

This report "Oracle Enterprise Manager: The Secret Sauce in Oracle's Hybrid Cloud Strategy" is authored by Mary Johnston Turner from IDC. The Link discusses IDC’s experience at Oracle Open World 2014, specifically around Oracle Enterprise Manager.

KEY FINDINGS:

•Oracle Cloud services are supported by more than 20 Oracle Cloud data centers around the world and are managed by the same Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) toolkit that customers use on premise to monitor, provision and maintain Oracle databases, Engineered Systems and Oracle applications and middleware.

•Oracle's goal with OEM is to provide customers with a unified management environment where on premise management solutions can monitor and manage public cloud services, and visa versa, depending on the customer's specific needs.

•The real value of OEM to the company and its customers is its ability to reduce costs and improve operational agility via delivery of consistent automated workflows and repeatable configurations, identity and performance SLAs across the full spectrum of Oracle on premise and public cloud offerings.
