Oracle Service Cloud Release 18D is live!

This release includes a true leap forward in the delivery of world class customer experiences — Inlays! For those familiar with syndicated widgets, Inlays serve the same purpose, but do so using the modern web technologies delivered by Oracle’s JET web development library. The initial release is focused on chat presentation components, which can be embedded in any web page — naturally including OSvC Customer Portal pages — with the placement of a simple HTML element. And because Inlays are delivered via the new continuous delivery process, our customers will see improvements and additions constantly rather than only once per quarter.

Other exciting additions to the product include:

  • Public Chat Consumer REST API: build web and mobile chat apps with direct access to the chat service
  • OPA Enhanced File Upload: add metadata to uploaded files for improved file search capability
  • Social Cloud Integration: manage Facebook and Twitter conversations using a new packaged (non-accelerator) integration

    we have a customer with an 18D upgrade-site but I can't find anything around chat-inlays there. Do you know more?
