This particular boot camp is focused on helping partners develop the essential skills needed to implement every aspect of an ATG Commerce Application from scratch, (not CRS-based), with a specific goal of enabling experienced Java/J2EE developers with a path towards becoming functional, effective, and contributing members of an ATG implementation team. What Is Covered:

Week 2 – Day 6 through 10

Team-based Case Project

In the second week of the boot camp training, participants will be asked to join a project team that will select a case project for the team to implement. Teams will be able to choose from four of the most common application types developed and deployed on the ATG platform. They are as follows: Hard goods with physical fulfillment, Soft goods with electronic fulfillment, a Service or subscription case example, a Course/Event registration case example.

Team projects will have approximately 160 hours of use cases/stories for each team to build (40 hours per developer). Each day's Use Cases/Stories will build upon the prior day's work, and therefore must be fully completed at the end of each day. Please note that this boot camp intends to simulate real-world project conditions, and as such will likely require the need for project teams to possibly work beyond normal business hours. To promote further collaboration and group learning, each team will be asked to present their work and share the methodologies and solutions that they've applied to their cases at the end of each day.

Successful Fusion CRM Bootcamp in Paris - July 24-24th

The first Fusion CRM Bootcamp for EMEA partners successfully took place in the Paris Pullmann Bercy hotel on July 24-26th.

The agenda covered 14 Fusion CRM topics in depth, including detailed presentations and hands-on exercises, delivered by a team of Fusion CRM experts from Oracle Product Development.

89 participants represented 55 companies from 14 different countries, attended this event which was also a great opportunity to network with Oracle Product Development and Alliances & Channels executives during the breaks and the "Fusion Lounge" session each day after the training.

As expressed by the participants in the event survey, the overall satisfaction reached to an impressive percentage of 85+ with the response of “met or exceeded the expectations” and with individual comments such as:

  • On top of the presentation of Fusion CRM as a product, this event allowed to better understand Oracle's product and rollout strategy. The ability to meet the development team was really a bonus.
  • Extremely valuable information given that enables integrators to go on the road of Fusion CRM
  • Excellent organization, good product information coverage and demonstration

Additional Fusion CRM bootcamps are planed across EMEA in the next quarters, although they will probably be under a different format which is still to be defined.

Oracle Fusion CRM is a Leader! Nucleus Research - CRM Technology Value Matrix 2012

Nucleus Research published their updated CRM Technology Value Matrix – First Half 2012.  The Value Matrix evaluates CRM vendors on functionality and usability which they consider the core indicators in an application’s ability to deliver initial ROI and value over time.  Nucleus Research has improved their methodology based on our feedback incorporating vendor product briefings and customer references.

Oracle Fusion CRM rated in the Leaders quadrant and scored the highest for “Functionality”. Oracle Siebel CRM and Oracle CRM On Demand are in the Experts quadrant. RightNow is in Facilitators quadrant.

Oracle CRM on Demand update focuses on industries

There is no end in sight for CRM on Demand despite the arrival of Fusion CRM, according to an executive

Oracle is hoping to differentiate its cloud CRM (customer relationship management) software from that sold by rivals such as Salesforce.com with a new set of industry-specific capabilities.

But the core product has gotten plenty of upgrades as well, said Anthony Lye, senior vice president of cloud applications strategy.

"This is a very well-balanced release," Lye said. "We've done a number of enhancements in things like account planning, assessment, basic customer model and the way we manage customers," as well as marketing functions, he added.

All of the new features are available in every customer's instance of CRM on Demand, with the tools for specific industries turned on during the configuration process, Lye said. Customers who may want to use features that haven't been switched on just need to go into the management console and enable them, he said.

Life sciences companies now have capabilities for tracking product samples left at customer sites, helping them "adhere to often complex and mandatory industry rules and regulations," Oracle said in a statement.

Improvements for automotive and financial services companies include improved analytics. For example, auto companies can now define a vehicle as an object, allowing them to run "detailed reporting on all aspects of a vehicle, including ownership and transactions, in one place," Oracle said.

Upgrades applicable to all industries include territory realignment, address-sharing between contacts and accounts, tweaks to the user interface and better support for iPads, iPhones and BlackBerry devices.

Oracle's work on industry features gives it an advantage over Salesforce.com, since all the features are in one application, versus integrated via-third-party products, Lye asserted.

While Oracle recently rolled out its next-generation Fusion CRM application, there's no end in sight for CRM on Demand, Lye said. "We're making a strong commitment to those customers. This is a big release. After Release 20, we will do Release 21."

However, new Oracle customers are being encouraged to look at Fusion CRM versus CRM on Demand, according to Lye.
