A brand New “Oracle Analytics Cloud” service (OAC) is now available with Essbase. With processor based pricing for unlimited users, OAC can be cost effective for BICS customers who need large numbers of Named Users.
OAC can be used as a standalone analytics solution or in parallel with other Oracle Analytics solutions. If you currently use DVCS or BICS, you may want to continue using those services and also use OAC. Or you may want to consider moving your analytics entirely to OAC. If you use Oracle Essbase on premises, you will find the new features of Oracle Essbase Cloud very valuable, such as modeling in Excel and uploading to Essbase in minutes, Design-by-Example, and sandboxing, among others.
OAC subscription pricing is based on CPU/Month and per CPU/Hour, rather than per Named User (as it is for BICS and DVCS): you subscribe to as many “OCPU”s as you need to run Prod, Dev, and Test instances of BICS/DVCS and Essbase (or even for BICS/DVCS only or Essbase only). And of course this can be linked to other Oracle cloud PaaS and IaaS services as needed, such as for Compute, Storage, Integration, Database and Big Data.
We will be scheduling some live partner briefing webinars with configuration and sizing guides in the near future – watch this space and I will let you know how to join these. In the meantime if you have a customer keen to buy OAC and you need some help, please let me know.
