OracleAS 10g Forms and Reports 10.1.2.3 Certified With EBS R12

Guest Author
I am pleased to announce that OracleAS 10g Forms and Reports version 10.1.2.3 is now certified with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12. EBS 12 ships with Forms 10.1.2.0.2. If you're still running that version, you now have the choice of updating to either Forms 10.1.2.2 or Forms 10.1.2.3. We strongly recommend Forms 10.1.2.3.
For the steps to upgrade to this latest version of Forms, refer to the Metalink Notes in the Documentation section below. Along with Form and Reports Services, Developer Suite 10.1.2.3 is also certified.

    Steven,

When I apply 5983622 to a fresh installed 12.1.1 HP UX Itanium middle tier, the copy file process shows directories that do not exist in my filesystem. They all seem to reflect the 'rapidwiz' image paths. I have a S/R open (3-2386331881) but I am not getting any where with that. Can I apply the 12.1.3 maintenance patch 9239090 even if the 10.1.2.3 patchset has not been applied?

    Thanks for your great blog,

    Maz

    Steven,

I am hvaing trouble applying 5983622, as the copy portion of the patch is using non-exeistant paths, look like 'rapidwiz' image paths. I am on a fresh 12.1.1 installon HP-UX Itanium, and want to go to 12.1.3. Can I skip the 5893622 patch (while support works on it) and continue to the 9239090 patch.

    Thanks,

    Maz

    Maz,

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble applying this patch.

We can provide general conceptual guidance here, but I'm afraid that this blog isn't the best place to get technical support for specific issues like the one that you're working through.

I've contacted the Support Engineer assigned to your SR to let him know that he can engage our Apps Platforms Engineering team for assistance. In parallel, if this SR isn't progressing as quickly as you need, I'd recommend that you call Oracle Support and ask to speak with an Escalation Manager to formally escalate your Service Request. It's currently flagged as, "Never Escalated."

    Regards,

    Steven

    Steven,

Thanks, but can I proceed without applying the 10.1.2.3 patch? Or is it mandatory?

    Appreciate the quick reply.

    Maz

12.1.3 is certified and supported with Forms and Reports 10.1.2.3 only. Hence, 10.1.2.3 upgrade is mandatory.

    Prasad,

Thank you for the answer to my question. Now to get support to resolve the issue.

    Thanks again,

    Prasad,

Issue has been resolved. The 11.2.0 database upgrade ( for an 12.1.1 apps database) had patch 6040051 (10g AS 10.1.0.5) that really screwed up the comps.xml. I copied an earlier version, pre 11.2.0 upgrade, cleaned up the paths, and the 5983622 patchset applied first time. Lesson here, 6040051 patch should have a vigorous BACKUP inventory directory statement. It will need to be restored when 12.1.3 upgrade is done.

    Thanks,

    Maz

6040051 has been there for a while for the 10.1.0.5 oracle home. If you have a consistent reproducible case that comps.xml is getting messed up, you should file an SR/bug for the respective platform.

    Thanks,

    Prasad
