    Dear Steve

Though it is unrelated to the current post, i require your kind help for below queries:

    1. Can i use web logic server coming along with E-Business suite 12.2 for custom application deployment developed using ADF

    2. What are the restrictions in using web logic server packaged with R12.2.X

    3. Our aim is to develop customization s (forms UI etc) using ADF instead of OAF/ Forms and deploy them in separate managed servers of EBS web logic server. Is it allowed or are there any restrictions. Do we need any additional ADF run time environment licensing as well?

    4. If the above is not allowed, is there anyway where we can extend the web logic / ADF licensing of EBS

As you understand customer would be under impression of having web logic and pursing him to buy additional licensing for web logic has become challenging. Clearing the do's & dont's of EBS web logic can clear some air in this regard.

    Appreciate your advise.

I'm afraid that a blog isn't the right place to get this kind of guidance. Licensing questions are better-handled by someone in Oracle Sales. You should contact your Oracle account manager for help with questions 2, 3, and 4.

Question 1: No. If you're building ADF-based applications, you should do that on a separate server. You shouldn't use your EBS server for this.

We have a Discoverer Client&Desktop v4.1 integrated with EBS 12.1.1. So, we are planning to update to EBS 12.2.4. Can we use web logic server coming along with E-Business suite 12.2 for installing Oracle BI Discoverer Desktop and Discoverer Administrator, is it certify ???

    Hello, Edwards,

No, the WLS instance that comes with EBS is reserved for EBS-use only. You should create a separate instance for Discoverer.
