Oracle Grid 12c Release 2 (12.2) Certified with RAC 12.1 and EBS 12.2

Elke Phelps
Product Management Director

I'm pleased to announce Oracle Grid 12c Release 2 (12.2) is now certified when using Oracle 12c Release 12.1 Real Application Clusters (RAC) with Oracle E-Business Suite Release12.2.  When using Oracle RAC 12.1 with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2, you now have the option to use either Oracle Grid 12c Release 12.2 or 12.1.

Configuring Oracle Grid and shared storage is a mandatory requirement for deploying Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC). Note that the Cluster Ready Services (CRS) ORACLE_HOME, other locations and commands may differ between the two Oracle Grid 12c Releases.

    Hi Steven,

I still not found the EBS certify Oracle Grid 12c Release 2 document on MOS? I just found (Doc ID 1626606.1) for 12c Release 1 (12.1) Real Application Clusters, thanks

    Hello Steven,
I have not been able to find a note on MOS that has information that Grid 12.2 is not certified with DB. Can you please paste the note number in this blog.

    Hi Elke,

Accordng to the "Release Schedule of Current Database Releases (Doc ID 742060.1)" extended Support fees for Database waived through July 31, 2019.

Beginning Aug 1, 2019 an ES service contract is required.

At the same time EBS R12.x is not certified with Database 12.2 or higher

Could you please elaborate on how this will affect the EBS R12.x implementations?

    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards

Balaram, Apologies for the delayed response. This question has come up on quite a bit on the threads on this blog.

The certification of the next database release with EBS 12.1 and 12.2 is our top priority. This certification is more complex than some prior certifications. At this point, we anticipate that the next version we certify will be Database 19c.

Note: Oracle's revenue recognition policy prohibits from sharing timelines and dates for future certifications and releases.

    Hi Elke,
We are anxiously waiting for 19c certification of EBS 12.x.

I have one question regarding 19c clusterware certification. Once EBS is certified with 19c clusterware, will we still be able to run database versions or 12.1 along with 19c clusterware?

Cash - Thanks for the post. Certification of EBS Releases 12.2 and 12.1 with Database 19c is our top priority.

Regarding Grid Infrastructure 19c certification with EBS 12.2 or 12.1 and Database or This certification is separate from the certification of EBS with Database 19c. We are currently planning to certify these combinations in the future.

Please monitor or subscribe to this blog for the latest in certification announcements.

    Cash -
As a follow-up to your prior post, note that Grid Infrastructure (GI) 19c is now certified with EBS 12.2 and DB or with RAC

Been working on trying to install EBusiness 12.2 on a 19C Grid cluster and it continuously fails. 12.2 Rapdid Wiz uses crs_stat to verify cluster readiness which has been desupported in 19C GRID. So it fails. Did Oracle actually test this ?

Paul - I'm sorry to hear that you are encountering issues with GI 19c and EBS. There were many combinations of GI 19c tested for EBS.

We can provide general conceptual guidance on this blog; however, this is not the best place to get technical support for specific issues like the one that you've encountered.

Please log a service request (SR) with Oracle Support to address the issues you have encountered with the GI 19c and Rapid Install.

    Regards, Elke
