Steven Chan
Senior Director

I am pleased to announce that Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.7 is now available.

Instructions for downloading and applying this latest release update pack (RUP) for the EBS 12.2 codeline can be found here:

What Does Release 12.2.7 Include?

As a consolidated suite-wide patchset, this RUP includes new features, statutory and regulatory updates, and enhancements for stability, performance, and security.

Release 12.2.7 is cumulative. That means that as well as providing new updates for this release, it also includes updates that were originally made available as one-off patches for earlier 12.2 releases.

For a complete list of new features, refer to:

Common Questions and Answers About Upgrading

  • Q: Is there a direct upgrade path from Release 11i to Release 12.2.7?
A: No. Release 11i customers must first upgrade to Release 12.2 before applying 12.2.7.
  • Q: Is there a direct upgrade path from EBS 12.0 to 12.2.7?
A: No. Release 12.0 customers must first upgrade to Release 12.2 before applying 12.2.7.
  • Q: Is there a direct upgrade path from EBS 12.2 to 12.2.7?
  • A: Yes. Release 12.2 customers can apply 12.2.7 directly to their
environments. EBS 12.2.7 is an online patch, so it can be applied while an existing Release 12.2 system is running.

applying the "adop phase=apply patches=24696090" now to our patch file system. Upgrading from 12.2.4. We are leaving our database at but may upgrade that soon too.

Basically we are following, as a master guide, doc_id 2230783.1 which in turn references docs 1617461.1 (upgrade to AD.C.10 and TXK.C.10) and 1590356.1 (for FMW to upgrade).

The big 12.2.7 patch 24696090 has over 23000 worker jobs to perform so it my current adop apply patch will probably be running for awhile before I get to cutover and fs_clone.

    ebs_12.2.7 compatible with OMT 6.3.6?
  • Steven Chan Thursday, October 19, 2017
    Hello, Vshetty,

EBS Development does not certify EBS with OMT directly, but it may work. You can log a Service Request with Oracle Support against OMT to get confirmation from that team on compatibility.

Completed the EBS 12.2.7 upgrade from 12.2.4 last week. Last night we successfully completed the EBS Database upgrade from to So far so good in testing and seeing what is new. Looks great!

But then a few days ago I remembered the quarterly CPU patch which was released on Oct 17, just a month after 12.2.7 was released. Is that CPU only for earlier releases or is it also intended for newest 12.2.7?

    Hi, Benny,

Congratulations on completing your 12.2.7 and database upgrades! Glad that they went smoothly.

The CPU is intended for all releases, including EBS 12.2.7. As always, we strongly recommend that you apply the latest CPUs at your earliest convenience.

Can we update AD-TXK to Delta 10 and update to 12.2.7 in the same ADOP cycle?

  • Sanjay Mishra Tuesday, January 23, 2018
    Hi Experts,
I have installed 12.2.7 cloud image with database on cloud VMs. but patch edition is not active while going to apply a patch and run prepare phase adop validation failed. Please suggest.

    Hi, Sanjay,

I'm sorry to hear that you've encountered an issue with this.

We can provide general conceptual guidance here, but I'm afraid that this blog isn't the best place to get technical support for specific issues like the one that you're working through.

Your best bet would be to log a formal Service Request via My Oracle Support (formerly Metalink) to get one of our specialists engaged.

Regarding your questions about applying AD-TXK Delta.10 patches in the same adop cycle. Our recommendation has always been to lay down the infrastructure patches (AD&TXK Delta.10 in this case) ahead of the divisional patches (12.2.7 in this case) and in a separate patching cycle.

The main reason is that all enhancements, improvements and fixes to the patching tool will be in place by the time to apply 12.2.7.

The second reason is that we tested applying 12.2.7 with AD&TXK Delta.10 in place.

Hi Steven, Saw your post reg 12.2.7 VM Appliance..Have a question. Currently, I have 12.2.4 appliance and want to upgrade the vision db database from 12.2.4 to 12.2.7..Is it possible?
I frequently refer only Vision DB & not the front end only hence the request.

Could you please share some pointers on this.

  • Steven Chan Thursday, August 23, 2018
    Hi, Shreedhar,

You can either apply the EBS 12.2.7 update to your 12.2.4 Vision environment, or you can simply download the latest 12.2.7 VM directly. See:

    Thanks Steven...

Sorry to bother you again, I am not a DBA & need clarification..

If one is to upgrade the Vision DB from 12.2.4. to 12.2.7 (RUP 12.2.7) only will the following command suffice

    adop phase=apply apply_mode=downtime patches=24690690
