The Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) is an engineered system that combines Oracle software with server, storage, and networking hardware. The E-Business Suite's application tier and database tier components may be deployed on the Oracle Database Appliance.
Oracle Database Appliance offers the option to deploy highly available Oracle Databases in a bare metal environment or to deploy both Oracle Databases and the Application Tier in virtualized environments within the appliance.
A new whitepaper describes how to use EBS + ODA together:
This white paper describes how to deploy Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2 database and application tiers on Oracle Database Appliance Virtualized Platform 2.8 (and later) using preconfigured Oracle E-Business Suite VM templates.
Each Oracle E-Business Suite deployment consists of two Oracle VM templates:
The procedures in this paper are fully supported for production use.

Is 12.1.3 supported in this configuration?
Are there any problems with the ODA patching which (in my understanding) patches the OS, database and cluster ware in a single patch?
Hello, Chad,
The ODA team has only documented EBS 12.2. I'll ask them to follow up on this thread to see whether they have plans to write an equivalent whitepaper for EBS 12.1.3.

Steven
Hello Chad,
The 12.1.3 EBS templates come with 11.1.0.7 database while the 12.2 EBS templates come with 11.2.0.3 database. The Oracle Database Appliance does not support 11.1 databases - it only supports 11.2 databases and above.
Using 12.2 templates involve only moving the database to ODA_base while 12.1.3 templates would require the database to be upgraded to 11.2 before moving to ODA_base.
We currently do not have plans to publish a whitepaper on deploying 12.1.3 EBS templates. But we do have a MOS note 1566935.1 which details 12.1.3 EBS deployment on ODA Bare Metal configuration. We can use same the Rapid Install process in VM configuration also.

Is there any documentation to deploy/migrate EBS 11.5.10.2, is this supported for ODA?
EBS 11.5.10.2 is supported on Oracle Database Appliance in Split Configuration. This requires the ODA to be deployed as Virtualized Platform. A 64-bit database can then be created on ODA_BASE (which is OEL 5.9 64-bit) to support EBS. The application tier can be installed separately in a 32-bit OEL 5.9 VM.
We currently dont have the migration process documented for this configuration. But the process would not differ from a normal migration to Linux. Following MOS notes should help:
Migrating to Linux with Oracle Applications Release 11i (Doc ID 238276.1)
Export/import notes on Applications 11i Database 11g (Doc ID 557738.1)
Using Transportable Tablespaces for EBS 11i Using Database 11gR2(Doc ID 1366265.1)

Can we go with below:
