I wish you all a very happy New Year!

In my previous article, I gave an overview of Oracle Integration Cloud Service (ICS) and Oracle E-Business Suite Adapter. In this article, I will focus on integrations using EBS Adapter.

Usually, integrations include a source (or trigger) connection that sends a request or message to ICS, and a target (or invoke) connection to which ICS sends a request or message. For integration with SaaS on-premises applications using EBS Adapter in ICS, EBS can be a source, a target application, or both.

When EBS Adapter is used as a target in an ICS integration, ICS is responsible for invoking the EBS service and passing the information from the source (or a previous step in the integration) to EBS. The following interface types are available for such integrations:

  • PL/SQL APIs
  • Concurrent Programs (currently available for EBS R12.1.3 only)
When EBS Adapter is used as a source in an ICS integration, EBS is responsible for triggering the ICS integrations. The following interface types are available for such integrations:
  • Business Events
  • XML Gateway Outbound Messages

Our tutorial about using EBS Adapter in ICS covers the use of EBS Adapter as a source and as a target.
