February 2018 EBS Cloud Admin Tool Updates for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

We are pleased to announce immediate availability of the latest update to the EBS Cloud Admin Tool for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Note: This is distinct from the release of the equivalent tool for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Classic (formerly Oracle Public Cloud) that is covered in February 2018 EBS Cloud Admin Tool Updates for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Classic.

You can use Version 18.1.1 of this menu-driven tool to easily create, configure and manage Oracle E-Business Suite on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Compute and related database services.

Obtaining the EBS Cloud Admin Tool

Instructions for installing the tool from scratch, or upgrading an existing tool to the 18.1.1 codelevel, are included in the following Oracle by Example tutorial:

New Features and Enhancements

Enhancements and new features offered by Version 18.1.1 include:

  • Capability to run your database on a Compute VM: Version 18.1.1 allows you to run your database on a Compute VM, in addition to the options offered by the previous release to run on a 1-Node DB System or Exadata DB System.
  • Expanded database cloud service options: Previous versions of the EBS Cloud Admin Tool supported the Enterprise Edition High Performance and Enterprise Edition Extreme Performance database options for 1-Node DB Systems. Version 18.1.1 extends this to include support for Enterprise Edition (for Oracle Database 11.2.0.4 only at present).
  • Improvements to Core Modules: Many fixes and improvements were made to the core modules that are the foundation of the EBS Cloud Admin Tool.
