What's Up With Onhand Quantity With Min-Max Planning?

Todd Cerny
Principal Technical Support Engineer

In our continuing Inventory mystery series on onhand quantity issues, we thought we'd take a look at Min-Max Planning.
If you use Min-Max Planning, you might have wondered why you sometimes find that the onhand quantity for an item is below the Min-Max minimum quantity while there's an open Purchase Order (PO) to satisfy the Min-Max minimum quantity? There's actually a few potential causes. For quick answers check out doc, Min-Max Planning Report (INVISMMX) Does Not Consider Open Purchase Order As Supply (Doc ID 1351316.1).

For general Min-Max information, we'd also recommend, FAQ: Min-Max Planning Report (Doc ID 66712.1).

Onhand and replenishment issues can sometimes be tricky but we'll continue to point out documentation and/or MOS KM notes that can help clear things up. Keep on using Min-Max Planning and keep your stock replenished.
