Using the Financial Inquiry Tool in Fixed Assets

question If you have questions about using Financial Inquiry in Fixed Assets,
there is a new document that might be helpful - FAQ: Using Financial
Inquiry Tool (Doc ID 2225072.1).  In this document, you can find answers
to frequently-asked questions about the form, its use, and errors you
may have encountered when using the inquiry.

Perhaps you have encountered an error in the Financial Inquiry form (FAXOLFIN) or maybe the form hangs when you try to open it?  Are you trying to find information on View Accounting in Release 12?

For example, one of the questions in the FAQ asks:  In R12, how do I view accounting in the View Transaction Accounting form?

Answer:  In R12 the accounting information will show in the Subledger Accounting page.  This is different from 11i where the view accounting record was on the accounting form.

To view accounting lines from the Transaction History window:

  1.  Query the transaction history of the asset for which you want to view accounting lines.
  2.  Choose View Accounting from the Tools menu to view accounting information in Oracle Subledger Accounting.

However, if you upgrade from 11i to R12, upgraded history data will still show in the accounting form.
