What's The High Cost Of Not Patching?

Our friends in Costing have just released their latest Consolidated Patch 21449070:R12.BOM.C. Periodic Average Costing Data Collection Scripts and Process Flow

We are extremely pleased to announce the Data Collection Scripts and Process Flow for Periodic Average Costing (PAC IPAC) – Cost Management (Doc ID 1928724.1) has been released.

Customers will find relevant information related to Periodic Average Costing processes.

Periodic Average Costing is an option that enables customers to value inventory on a periodic basis.  Periodic Average Costing is relevant for customers with fiscal inventory reporting requirement as it is invoice-based and allows you to include additional invoiced charges in the cost of the item. 

Periodic Average Costing is also used by customers who want invoice-price based valuation of their inventory to set standards or to update their perpetual costs.  An approach to inventory valuation in which variable costs and a portion of fixed costs are assigned to each unit of production.

Subledger Accounting Setup for Cost Management

New Costing white paper describing the setup of the Cost Management Subledger Accounting Feature available in Release 12 for purchase order and miscellaneous transaction.  It includes a step by step guide on how to configure the SLA feature for business transactions.  The document contains the following sections:

1.  Subledger Accounting set up for PO and miscellaneous transactions:
-For the PO:
           Journal Header Description with: PO number and Vendor name
           Journal line description with: transaction_id and item description
-For Miscellaneous Transaction:
           Journal Header Description with This is: transaction_id
           Journal line description with:item description, transaction reason description and reference code

2.  Test case and results in  the SLA/GL  reports and tables  where it appear for the receipt transactions: PO number and Vendor name in the journal header description and  transaction_id
and item description in the same journal at the line description and for the miscellaneous transaction in the  journal header description.
