Two column layout? Three? You choose :)

Never say that I don't pay attention to your comments. PlanetMySQL on the web is now available in both two and three column layouts (Arjen, Mikael) and with a marginal increase in font size (Roland, Shlomi). Choose two column or three column layouts and be happy with whichever view you feel like. Personally, I'm a fan of giving as much choice in layout as possible.

The layout is also zoom friendly for those that want bigger/smaller fonts. There were some other comments on various possible changes to PlanetMySQL (like fixing the archives), since I seem to have people's attention right now, please do comment on anything Planet related. Some more back-end db changes a-coming depending on how much green beer I drink tonight. But I'll write about that in another blog. Pending greenness of beer.

Comments:

Please put the 2/3 column switcher in the menubar, then it doesn't use up extra space.
I think the font type or size is a bit different in the quicklinks, try selecting 2 col and see.
Oh and when I click the 3-to-2 link, it first messes up the layout until I do a manual reload.

Re archives... having them searchable would be good.

Btw, what's with the "PlanetMySQL © 1995-2008 MySQL AB, 2008-2009 Sun Microsystems, Inc." though (at the bottom of the page)... can't claim copyright over other people's content! The only thing that's MySQL-owned is the codebase, which is (unfortunately!) not public anyway so there's no issue of copyright.

Hi,

2 column layout, on my firefox 3.0, ubuntu 8.10 only shows one column: I first get the "quick links", then \*below\*, appears the content.
That's even though I'm on a widescreen. Resolution: 1280x800

Shlomi, please refresh your css cache, I'll have to expire the stylesheet, but the reload should fix the css
