PlanetMySQL layout changes

If you visit the PlanetMySQL web site (as opposed to reading only on css) you might have noticed some tweaks to the layout. I changed the layout today to three columns on the main page. Yes, these are tweaks hopefully for other blogorific goodness to come.

Comments:

Lucky I was stuck at the dentist with no web access (while waiting an hour).

I think that's a fail, Dups. Why not put the quicklinks in the right hand pane above the Top N lists.
More space for the actual posts which is what planetmysql is about, and no weird look further down.

Hi,

First, good to have someone taking care of the site.
However, the new layout uses quite small fonts - which may make it look more formal, but makes for a harder read. May I suggest increasing font size, at least for the headlines?

Regards

The new release does not have links to older posts? :-(

where are the next/prev posts buttons?

It's missing an option to view older posts.

It's a fail on Iphone Safari and opera mini on my sonyericsson. Top menu bar covers the top of the main frames. It did so slightly before as well but it seems alot worse now. And previous posts links? Put the title indexing where there already is a column - on the right - instead of wasting more of my precious screen width.

Neel, Jonas, Matic, I had commented that out by accident and it slipped by all of us :( sorry, the next and previous should be back.

Mikael, I'll give you options to switch from two/three column format and also specific for iphone/mini formats as well.

Cheers

Hi!

"If you visit the PlanetMySQL web site (as opposed to reading only on css)"

typo? css -> xss

Something struck me just this moment...I just noticed the google ads aren't there anymore...perhaps this happened some time ago already? I like it without ads :)

Anyway, I'd like to say: I like it mostly! Just some suggestions:

1) ++ for larger fonts (shlomi's suggestion)
2) The archives - would it be possible to have the entry titles link to the original blog instead of the planetmysql entry? I mean, from the entry you have to click through anyway, why not bring us there immediately?

sigh.. css... I was writing some css at the time, I meant to say RSS. Damn

gah...I typoed myself...yes I meant rss, not xss (in hindsight, my typo was freudian too - I really ought to quit hacking sites...)
