THE CLOUD became self-aware at 09:00 Pacific Time on September 23, 2015

According to Ray Kurzweil, who just gave one one of the keynotes at this year's JavaOne, YOU will BE the cloud, enabled by the massive computing power, extreme miniaturization, and brain-embedded software of the not-too-distant future.  His talk was streamed live this morning, and should be available shortly for on-demand viewing.  Plan to view it!  He convincingly demonstrates the "inexorable" incorporation of computing into the human experience, including microprocessors in the brain, intelligent artificial blood corpuscles, and, ultimately, computers smarter than humans (pretty easy it would seem, given the extent of human stupidity!).

So, while you are still smarter than your laptop, check out Oracle's newest milestone on the road to total computer-aided awareness, the Exalogic Elastic Cloud.

About

The purpose of this blog is to highlight and to explore general issues around "Cloud Computing" -- its benefits, risks, and component technologies -- and how they are evolving. I'll also periodically comment (of course!) on Oracle's Cloud Computing capabilities, resources, and cloud-related events. -- Harry J Foxwell, PhD, Principal Consultant for Cloud Computing, Oracle Public Sector HW
