Greetings!

Greetings! I'm "Dr Cloud" (Harry J Foxwell, PhD), Principal Technologist for Cloud Computing for Oracle's Public Sector division.  I focus on operating systems (Linux and Solaris), virtualization technologies (with and without hypervisors), and of course Cloud Computing, for US Federal, State, and Local government agencies and for Oracle's Systems Integrator partners.  I worked for Sun Microsystems, now part of Oracle, for 15 years; I'm also an Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at George Mason University.

The purpose of this blog is to highlight and to explore general issues around "Cloud Computing" -- its benefits, risks, and component technologies -- and how they are evolving.  I'll also periodically comment (of course!) on Oracle's Cloud Computing capabilities, resources, and cloud-related events.  So, check in frequently and see what's new on "Dr Cloud's Flying Software Circus".  In the meantime, you might find some of my earlier Sun blog posts to be relevant to your interests in Cloud Computing:
