Ubuntu linux and Sun Studio 12

So, I thought (for some reason) that getting Sun Studio 12 on my linux box might be challenging. Ha! Silly me. Turns out it couldn't be any simpler. All I had to do was download the linux tarball, extract, and go. I think I may have had to install an extra package or two, but doing that was trivial. Way cool ... BTW - I'm running the latest version of Ubuntu (Feisty).
Comments:

Sun Studio 12 also installs and works well with Fedora 7 Linux. collect/analyzer requires a kernel patch to be able to use hardware performance counters from http://user.it.uu.se/~mikpe/linux/perfctr/2.6 . The problem is that current Fedora 7 kernel is 2.6.22, which is not supported by perfctr yet.
