OpenSSO Topics, Tasks and Drafts Meet Doctopus

Some of the links in this entry are not accessible if you are outside of Sun's network. Sorry 'bout that to all my external fans.

I'm finally getting a chance to respond to Joe Sciallo's comment on my Identity Management Doc Summit blog. (Thanks for the post, Joe.)

Joe mentioned some things that his team has done since their own doc summit. The two that caught my eye:

  • Created a vertical channel on BigAdmin
  • Issued requirements for a long-term solution that would enable customers to build custom documentation

The former I'd like to accomplish in the near future. The latter seems interesting; even more so with it's code name, Doctopus. Sounds like a My Yahoo page where the user can combine links to areas of the documentation set that are pertinent to their job. Looking forward to hearing more about Doctopus.

Some of the things that the amp'ers (that's the doc writers for Access Manager, Federation Manager, Agents, and OpenSSO) have done since our summit is:

This last item is what we call OpenSSO Topics, Tasks and Drafts. We post documents and links on this OpenSSO page. The information includes processes and procedures written internally as well as externally by members of the OpenSSO community. The first task documented internally is Building Custom Identity Repository Plug-ins.

If you have any topics/tasks that you think should be addressed, feel free to contact me or add it to the wiki.

Additionally, I've posted the ubiquitous Guide to Authentication.
