Meet the Partners at Open World
By email@example.com on Sep 15, 2010
Open World is only a few days away, and the Linux and Virtualization team at Oracle has been busy working with its partners to showcase some cool technology coming your way soon.
Here are some key places to visit while at Open World:
Moscone West, Booth #3347 is the Virtualization Pavilion. We have a couple great partners showing off their wares, including:
CA Technologies will be showing their new line of virtualization products, including Virtual Assurance, Virtual Automation, Virtual and Physical Management, Dynamic Data Center, Backup and Continuity, and Virtual Security. Make sure to stop by the Scene and Be Heard Theater (Booth #3741) on Wednesday at 1:30pm for a brief presentation by CA and Oracle, featuring Steve Lemme of CA.
PHD Virtual will be showing their Virtual Backup solution for VMware, Citrix (and soon Oracle VM!). Make sure to stop by the Scene and Be Heard Theater (Booth #3741) on Tuesday at 11:30am to hear Jim Schrand and Chris Barclay speak about integration with Oracle VM 3.0. They are also giving away an iPad, which is always a crowd pleaser. See their blog from more information.
General Dynamics Itronix will have a very cool demo of their new ultra-thin client laptops working with Oracle's Sun Ray and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies.
Also stop by the Cloud Computing Pavilion, Moscone West Booth #3537. Come meet our partners in the cloud space, including Appko, Citrix, Genesys Telecommunications, Joyent, OpSource, Savvis, Siemens AG, StepAhead Solutions, and Univa UD.
Other big names to watch out for:
Dell, as always, will be a major presence at the event, including a keynote from Dell CEO Michael Dell. Dell has been a constant partner with Oracle on Linux and Virtualization, producing a blizzard of white papers (special thanks to Kai Yu, Roger Lopez and the rest of David Mar's team)! With so many things going on, it is probably easier for me to just point to Dell's blog entry on Open World.
CSC will be showing their ambitious work on a cloud implementation using Oracle VM and Templates.
Oracle Partners are also invited to attend the Solaris, Linux and Virtualization talk on Sunday morning at 10am in Moscone South Room 306. You can hear me speak about our virtualization stack, as well as talks by John Shell on Solaris and Honglin Su on SPARC and Oracle VM 3.0.
